Cosmetic Acupuncture

Our current acupuncturist working at the Natural Health Centre, Mirijam Marx, does not offer cosmetic acupuncture but details of our previous acupuncturist who does can be found here Mandy Barter.

Cosmetic acupuncture has been used by the Chinese for centuries. It emphasises the fact that beauty is about good health, and to promote this, body acupuncture is used as well as cosmetic acupuncture points, to treat your general health.

Cosmetic acupuncture is a safe, natural alternative to surgical procedures and fillers.  Needles are single-use, sterile and disposable, and the stringent hygiene practices recommended by the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) are observed at all times to ensure safety.

Cosmetic acupuncture treatments are available to treat the face and also the body, for example cellulite. Treatment will also involve lifestyle and dietary advice and a comprehensive health history will be taken.

A course of approximately 8–12 treatments is recommended. Patients can notice a difference after one or two treatments; however the effects become most noticeable and lasting after eight. Each person responds differently, depending on the condition of his or her skin and lifestyle prior to facial acupuncture treatment. Following the initial course, maintenance treatments every 2-3 months can prolong the results.
